Anti-ICE rally organizers note recent increase in ICE detentions in Elgin

Anti-ICE rally organizers in Elgin, Illinois, have reported an increase in detentions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the area. The crowd gathered for the People's Liberation Rally, which was smaller than previous protests but more vocal in opposition to detentinations by ICE agents. The rally, which also included agencies like Centro de Información, encouraged people to reject hate and welcome immigrants. The Elgin Area Rapid Response Team, which investigates, document and assist families affected by deportation, coordinated the rally. The group also shared information on resources available to immigrants and their families and Know Your Rights initiatives.
