Law firms targeted by Trump ask court to uphold rulings blocking executive orders

Law firms targeted by President Donald Trump last year have asked a federal appeals court in Washington to uphold rulings that blocked White House executive orders against them. They argue that the orders are illegal and should remain permanently barred. The firms, WilmerHale and Jenner & Block, also submitted their arguments to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District ‘of Columbia Circuit. The White House accused the firms of "weaponizing" the legal system against him and his allies and promoting workplace discrimination. The court has scheduled oral arguments on May 14.
