Trump rejects Senate-passed Homeland Security funding bill

President Donald Trump has rejected the Senate-passed funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) due to it not fully funding the agency. This has been a sticking point with congressional Democrats. In a phone interview with Fox News, Trump suggested that the bill should have been terminated by the filibuster. He also stated that he wanted the entire agency funded. The Senate passed a DHS funding bill early Friday morning, which funds most of the department but does not include appropriations for ICE or CBP. The House rejected the measure and offered an alternative continuing resolution, but Senate Democratic leadership offered their rejection.
