FIFA President Gianni Infantino has assured that Iran's national team will be allowed to come to the United States for the World Cup, even amid ongoing conflict between the countries. The World Cup is set to begin in Inglewood, California, on June 15 and 21 before finishing group play against Egypt in Seattle on June 26. FIFA President spoke with President Donald Trump about the situation in Iran and received assurances that Iran would be permitted to participate in the tournament. The U.S. is hosting the tournament with Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Earlier this week, FIFA’s World Cup chief operating officer, Heimo Schirgi, stated that the tournament is “too big” to be postponed due to global turmoil caused by the US and Israeli war against Iran.
