Sea Lion Named 'Chonkers,' Nearly 3 Times the Size of His Peers, Sends Other Animals Fleeing as He Captivates California

A large wild Steller sea lion named 'Chonkers', nearly three times the size of his peers and weighing 2,000 pounds, has taken up residence on Pier 39 in San Francisco. The creature, nicknamed Chonkers on Reddit, has defended his position against other marine mammals nearby and has caused other animals to flee. The Stellers are typically found in Washington and Alaska and likely came to San Francisco Bay for food. However, harbor staff have no plans in place to remove the dangerous docks from the area.
