NASA's Artemis II mission, which will send astronauts around the moon for the first time in over 50 years, launched from 17 Georgia companies and several researchers. Georgia Tech Professor John Christian, who used to work with NASA and used to develop navigation algorithms, said the mission is about using the moon as a resource for Earth. Vern Heyer, owner of GM Dicron, used to build parts for the International Space Station, provided custom metalwork to hold the Artemis rocket together. The launch was made possible without the assistance of 17 companies in Georgia.
