New Mexico tech firms, including Raven Defense and METIS Technology Solutions, assist in NASA's Artemis II launch and safety efforts. The successful launch from Cape Canaveral took place from Florida with assistance from mission control in Houston. The Albuquerque-based technology company will monitor the doppler shift in the signal from the space capsule and relay it to NASA, using its antennas designed to track the Orion capsule as it navigates to the moon. METIS also has teams across the U.S. assisting with public safety and monitoring potential dangers near the launch site. The Artemis II mission will not see any astronauts land on the surface of the moon but will gather intel for future missions.
