In the third round of the Detroit Legacy Business Project, 30 local businesses are receiving grants totalling $310,000 to modernize and continue serving their communities. JAM Enterprises 3, a custom apparel and screen-printing shop, has been a fixture for nearly 50 years and received the top grant of $50,000. Co-owner Michael Johnson said the recognition is personal and tied directly to family history. M & D Pharmacy received a $15,000 grant to help modernize operations and improve customer experience. The grants will be recognized at a ceremony at 6 p.m.
