Two North Yorkshire battery energy storage systems have been removed from the connection queue for potential projects. The systems store electricity from the grid at times of low demand and return it to the grid when needed most. Experts argue that there are too many projects in the pipeline, with over 200GW of potential storage planned. The decision to remove these systems from the queue was made by the National Energy Policy Committee.
