US Senate Democrats push for answers on strike targeting Iran girls' school, civilian casualties

Nearly all of the 46 senators signed a letter to U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, asking for a thorough investigation into airstrikes on a girls' school in Iran that killed scores of children and potentially caused civilian harm. The majority of those killed in the strikes were girls aged 7-12. The letter also sought answers to questions about whether U.K. forces conducted the strikes, what steps have been taken to prevent civilian harm and what role artificial intelligence tools have played in operations. No Republicans signed the letter. The lawmakers are awaiting a request from the White House for more funding for the war.
