Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) has responded to a mental health crisis call where a 28-year-old woman was fatally shot by officers during a call. The woman was armed with a sharp object and making threats to officers when they arrived. Two officers fired their weapons, killing the woman. The city's $31 billion plan is in place to address this incident and is looking at ways to respond to such crises. Katelyn Hall had locked herself in a bathroom with a glass weapon and was making threats when officers arrived. The family of the victim has expressed concern and disappointment over the police response. LMPD maintains that the situation did not meet the criteria for the city's Crisis Call Diversion Program due to the nature of the situation.
