A cold front is expected to push through the region, bringing significant amounts of moisture to the ground. This is due to a combination of dry air, strong northerly winds, and ongoing drought. A Fire Weather Watch is already in place for most areas along and north of the I-10/I-12 corridor, and forecasters expect it to be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning. Forecasters are urging people to stay away from open flames or sparks, keep vehicles off dry grass, and properly dispose of cigarettes. The weather will be warmer and more humid, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 70s to mid-80s as high as possible.
