The grandmother and mother of four children murdered in upstate New York, Amy Steadman, Sarah Myers, and their children, Harper Harmon, Hudson Harmon, 11, and Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, before taking their own lives. The confession letter, left inside the home where the murders were discovered, was signed with the grandmother’s name and stated that they believed killing the children was the only way to protect them from alleged abuse in Utah. The children were supposed to live with their father, Brady Harmon, for two months after their murders. Investigators recovered texts between the mom and grandma documenting discussions about obtaining medications, where the killings would occur, how the children would be brought together, and how suspicion could be avoided.
