Parents are concerned about their college-age son's unhealthy diet, which they believe is genetic, and he eats too much junk food and soda. His pediatrician dismissed my concerns, but now he is an adult, so there is even less of an adult to help. The most supportive thing for your son is to listen to him and provide help when asked for, rather than worry about him's health issues. While there are many options for hair treatments and resources for help with one's diet, parents should be proactive about these issues if they want something to change. Advise your son about who he is, what he wants and what's going on in his life, as he expands into adulthood. Suggestions for help can be made for the sake of his health, as well as his personal development.
