No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed that he has early-onset Parkinson's disease, which he was diagnosed several years ago. Despite the difficulties, Dumont maintains that he can still play guitar and will perform in the band's upcoming live shows. In a video statement, he expressed his gratitude for the life he has led as a musician and hopes to erase some of the stigma surrounding the disease. Celebrities such as Michael J. Fox, Ed Begley Jr., Alan Alda, Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton, Neil Diamond, Earth Wind & Fire, and the late Maurice White of Earth Wind& Fire have also made public their diagnoses. The Parkinson's Foundation estimates that over 10 million people globally live with the disease, and in the U.S., nearly 90,000 people are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease each year.
