New York City has added another DC fast-charging hub to its downtown Flushing, Queens area, aimed at drivers who need it most. The new station has eight 360 kW fast chargers that can take an EV to 80% in around 10–15 minutes. The city chose this location due to limited access to affordable charging and a high number of Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) drivers. The New York Power Authority (NYPA), which runs the statewide EVolve NY network with about 300 chargers, is also building out more sites at NYC DOT municipal lots. The expansion is part of New York City's push towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
