St. John's is seeking its first Sweet 16 since 1999, with the fifth-seeded team set to play against Kansas in an East Region second-round game. Last year, St. John’s was the only one of the top eight seeds to fail to reach the Sweet 16. The team, which has won 20 of 21 games and hasn’t trailed in their past four games, is bigger up front and more capable from the 3-point line. However, Kansas, the potential No. 1 NBA draft pick, is a different animal due to their size and athleticism. Coach Rick Pitino believes the team will perform well in the upcoming game against the Jayhawks.
