Tish Hyman is running for the second term of Los Angeles' mayor, facing a challenge from 13 other candidates. Hyman's plan includes addressing homelessness, public safety, and cost of living in the city. She would launch a citywide Homeless Accountability and Transition Program, which would document every unhoused individual's case plan within 30 days, including mental health, addiction, employment, and housing needs. She also plans to implement a public-facing accountability system to monitor City Hall's progress and enforce public safety standards across public spaces. After a year, success would be measured by clear metrics including significant reduction in unsheltered homelessness, increased placement into permanent housing, reduced emergency room and jail cycling, and transparent public reporting. Hymen's vision includes a Neighborhood Safety Deployment Plan that restores consistent, visible presence where crime is occurring most.
