The Old Farmer's Almanac has declared spring officially, marking the official start of spring in the northern hemisphere. Despite a mild winter and a heatwave in Nevada, the state may feel like it's been in spring for weeks and may be heading into summer. The spring equinox occurs when the sun shines directly on the equator, resulting in nearly equal hours of daylight and darkness. The weather prediction is accurate, with the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicting warm and dry conditions in most of Nevada this spring. However, there are still variables this spring that will determine how severe water shortages and fire danger will be this summer.
