Hennepin County deputy charged in off-duty sexual assault, records show

Jared Kenneth Sprunk, a Hennepin County sheriff’s deputy, is accused of raping a woman early Sunday morning following a night of drinking. The charges stem from third- and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Wright County District Court. The victim had been drinking with Sprunk after a night out at a bar and had wanted to continue hanging out with him afterwards. Sprunk allegedly became forceful with her and told her she needed to sleep with him, then allegedly raped her. He has been placed on administrative leave and has an active peace officer license with the Hennepsin County Sheriff's Office.
