School closures Monday amid blizzard warning in DeKalb County

Several DeKalb County schools have closed or scheduled online due to a blizzard warning. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for parts of the county from 10 p.m. Sunday to 1 p. m. Monday. Schools across the county have cancelled classes and activities due to the weather. Genoa-Kingston School District 424 classes have been cancelled, and Hinckley-Big Rock School District 429 will be an e-learning day for all students. Meanwhile, Northern Illinois University will move to virtual classes instead of in-person.
