Nashita Mayor Freddie O'Connell has responded to concerns from local business owners about high property taxes, stating his office is working on solutions. O’Connell cited a 45% increase in median property tax values as the primary reason for the higher property tax bills in Davidson County, which he said is driving the higher bills. He also mentioned that his office has been in contact with business leaders and representatives of business groups to discuss the challenges businesses are facing, such as inflation and changes in federal tax, trade and immigration policy. Additionally, O‘Connell said his office was also looking into whether specialized circumstances, like being in a historic district, could create additional constraints for some businesses.
