Walmart quietly closes in on Amazon’s biggest lead

Walmart is closing in on Amazon's largest lead in delivery, with its acquisition of Jet.com's founder, Marc Lore, who also sold Diapers.com to Amazon, has shifted the company from being a brick-and-mortar store to being an omnichannel retailer. The company has also invested in NextDay delivery, which allows customers to receive up to two hundred thousand of our top items faster and more efficiently. Walmart leveraged its existing store and warehouse assets to grow its digital business. The chain’s CFO, John David Rainey, also highlighted the growth of digital sales globally, with growth up 24%. The company uses its unique assets, stores and clubs, distribution centers and fulfillment centers, and last-mile delivery networks to get orders to customers faster and efficiently.
