Tucker Carlson, a respected Fox News commentator and leader in the conservative movement, has become increasingly conspiratorial with his views. His rise in online popularity and shift towards sensationalism reflects a shift in media consumption, with audiences favoring conspiratorial clickbait and sensationalism. On a March 6 podcast with Saagar Enjeti, Carlson argued that demanding unconditional surrender from Iran would lead the U.S. military to abandon its moral core. He also claimed that convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein was tied to Israel’s intelligence service and part of a blackmail scheme. The watchdog group StopAntisemitism named Carlson "Antisiemite of the Year" due to his criticism of Israel and willingness to interview people with antisemitic views. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, called Carlson "unhinged" and his lies "moronic & delusional."
