Kentucky residents urged to prep for tornado season

The National Weather Service (NWS Louisville) has warned Kentuckians to prepare for the peak of tornado season, following a devastating round of tornadoes in southern Kentucky last spring. The National Weather Services (NPS) has stated that while it appears that tornadoes are becoming more frequent in Kentucky, this is not the case. Over time, improved detection technology has allowed for better classification and more obstacles for tornadoes to hit. Brian Neudorff from NWS Louisville stated that the commonwealth sees nearly 30 tornadoes a year and it's becoming more common to see them outside of the usual season. Chris Hall from 606 Storm Chasing has been chasing storms and tornadoes for over a decade and warns that severe weather can turn deadly in a matter of minutes.
