United Airlines has announced plans to offer an empty middle seat in one of its "Economy Plus" seats on its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The airline plans to use the space for a shared table between aisle and window travelers. The move comes amid a broader push for airlines to offer more special tiers and add-ons to their flights. United's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Andrew Nocella, stated that these new offerings give customers more choice and value in every cabin.
