Serial Catalytic Converters Thieves Arrested After Auto Burglary At SF Mall: Police

Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of catalytic converter thefts in Berkeley and an auto burglary at a San Francisco mall. The suspects were tracked down using the city's Real Time Investigation Center and Automated License Plate Readers, and were found at the El Cerrito Plaza. They were identified as Calvin Fries, 39, and Wyatt Zapien, 34, who were linked to several other crimes. Police seized several burglary tools and six catalytic converters from the suspects' vehicle.
