Apple's App Store has begun requiring some of its apps to declare whether they are regulated medical devices in the US, UK, and Europe. The requirement applies to apps that meet certain criteria such as Health & Fitness or Medical. Developers have until early 2027 to comply with this requirement. The new measure is effective for new apps uploaded to the store, but after this date, they will no longer be able to submit updates.
