A pedestrian was hit by a car near the intersection of McBride Avenue and Radcliffe Avenue in Woodland Park, New Jersey, shortly after a beloved crossing guard was killed. The 40-year-old man was running from the parking lot of the Perfect Shine Car Wash when he was struck by a different vehicle. The driver, a 35-year old Paterson woman, remained at the scene and the incident remains under investigation. The crossing guard, Jean Schultz, was identified by the school district as an integral role in the safety and overall well-being of students and families crossing the street. Both children were hit at the intersection and are in stable condition at the hospital.
