The travel chaos in the Middle East has left tens of thousands of passengers stranded in places such as Doha, Qatar, Bali, Kathmandu, and Frankfurt, with many simply changing planes. Slovak winemaker, 49-year-old Slovak winemaker, was stranded in Doha after returning from an ayurvedic retreat in Sri Lanka when she was evacuated to a hotel with hundreds of other passengers. James Gaskin from northern England was also stranded in Dubai after his connecting flight back to Britain was cancelled due to a lack of clean clothes and baggage issues. The chaos is also affecting other countries, with strangers trading information on finding washing machines, navigating airline helplines or retrieving luggage, and how to leave by car.
