Americans with the most grueling jobs reveal what makes their work tougher than most careers

A poll conducted by OnePoll.com has revealed that the toughest jobs in the US include firefighters, construction workers, and nurses. The survey also found that 21 percent believe working in mining or oil is one of the most gruelling jobs, while 11 percent believe being a doctor is a role only for the most resilient. The most challenging jobs involve being on your feet all day, working in all weather conditions, and dealing with trauma or distressing situations. 75 percent of respondents believe standing up all day can have serious consequences on long-term health. The study also revealed that those who work in construction, manufacturing, and engineering spend an average of just under seven hours a day on their feet.
