Marquette University alumnus Amy Madigan has won the Academy Award for her role in the horror hit Weapons. Madigan, who graduated from Marquette in 1972, won the first award of the evening for Actress in a Supporting Role. This marks the longest gap between nominations for an actress since her last role in 1985's "Twice in a Lifetime". Her win follows wins at the Critic's Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. This is the first Academy Award in acting for a Marquette alum.
