Today host Sheinelle Jones was trapped on a New York City train for two hours after falling asleep during a late night trip from Philadelphia. She woke up and realized there was no one on the train to help her get off the last stop. She was eventually rescued by police when she called 911 about her situation. Jones, who was born in Philadelphia, credits her love of words and storytelling back to her alma mater's Northwestern Magazine. She joined Today in 2014 and is set to become co-host of the show in 2019.
