Elmhurst Chips Away At Lack Of Northside Sidewalks

The city of Elmhurst, Illinois, is working to rectify the lack of sidewalks in its northeast corner. A $57,147 engineering contract is being voted upon by aldermen at the City Council meeting. The work will include a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side of Indiana Street, which leads to two schools. This is expected to be completed by summer. The city has approved a 40-year plan to have sidewalks on every street in 2025.
