The Hungarian opposition, led by Peter Magyar, secured a decisive election victory over Prime Minister Viktor Orban, ending his 16-year rule. With 98 percent of votes counted, the Tisza party secured an extraordinary 138 seats. Orban's Fidesz party was on 55 and the far-right Our Homeland on six. Magyarb stood on a platform of distancing Hungary from Russia in favor of more cordial ties with the EU and Ukraine.
