Pope Leo has stated he doesn't want to engage in a debate with President Trump, following his criticism of his rebukes of the Iran war. The pontiff, who has consistently condemned the war without naming Trump, stated he would continue to speak out against conflict and promote peace instead. This comes after Trump criticised Leo for being "weak on crime, and "terrible for foreign policy". He also suggested that the criticism was aimed at stopping the Pope from becoming a politician and focusing on his role as a great pope.
