The annual Grocery Grab Food Pantry in Onawa, Iowa, took place on a day where community members raced their carts to collect food for local food pantries. The food was collected from the West Central Community Action Agency in Onwa and the Mapleton Food Pantries. Each team had just three minutes to collect up to $250 worth of groceries. Dan Witten, the Monona County Farm Bureau Secretary, said the food will affect many communities in the county. The event was part of a larger effort to address local issues and reduce issues such as poverty.
