A bill regulating family influencers in Tennessee has passed, SB1469, which requires them to pay a portion of the money they make through featuring children in their content. The bill is aimed at protecting children who are heavily featured in monetized online content. Children under the age of 14 cannot make money from posting their own content, and 100% of this money is given to children aged 14-18 who appear in at least 30 percent of a creator's monetized content within a 30-day period. The money must be set aside in a trust accessible to the child when they turn 18. The law will be enforced through civil action, with no criminal penalties linked to it.
