The Coast Guard has seized approximately 3,825 pounds of cocaine, enough to kill over 1.4 million Americans. This is part of Operation Pacific Viper, part of President Donald Trump's strategy to combat narco-terrorism and dismantle transnational criminal organizations. The latest seizure was made by the Coast Guard cutter Tampa, with a value of over $28.7 million. The Coast Guard estimates that 1.2 grams of cocaine is a potentially lethal dose. The operation has been praised by the commanding officer of the Tampa, Cmdr. Joshua DiPietro.
