As security wait times at many airports return to normal, airports have warned that arriving too early can increase wait times. Some airports have advised travelers to arrive only a few hours before their flights to allow for plenty of time to get through TSA lines. John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio, for example, stated that the "sweet spot" for arriving 90 minutes before departure is 90 minutes prior to departure. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport advised arriving 2.5 hours early for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights, allowing travelers to complete pre-security. However, Denver International Airport reported that as of April 2, wait times are normal. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey cautioned that while wait times have improved, they are still volatile and subject to spikes based on passenger volumes and staffing levels.
