The unofficial winner of the Republican nomination for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois, with 57% of the more than 27,000 ballots cast, will face Democratic incumbent Eric Sorensen in November. The district spans central and northwestern Illinois and includes parts of Rock Island, Whiteside, and Knox.
