Braden Schneider, a 24-year-old defenseman who finished his fifth season in New York with two goals and 16 assists, has expressed his desire to stay with the Rangers. He is a pending restricted free agent with arbitration rights and is one of the few established assets the team has that can bring back the type of return Drury is seeking. However, as an RFA, teams can acquire his rights this offseason and sign him to whatever deal fits best. The Sharks are reportedly interested in Schneider.
