Joshua Bavaro, a 40-year-old man from Utah County, is facing charges for kidnapping and driving under the influence. Police say the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and turned it towards troopers on the side of Interstate 15, causing the vehicle to veer towards them. The trooper witnessed several signs of alcohol impairment, including a strong smell of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. Bavaro was brought to the police station and failed several sobriety tests. The passenger, who did not know Bavaro and did not follow his instructions, said Bavaro called him a "tough guy" and claimed he owed him money.
