A 20-year-old woman, named K.G.M., is suing social media platforms for causing her to become addicted to them, claiming they negatively impact her and others. The lawsuit has been consolidated by the California Judicial Council Coordination Proceeding. K.P.M. argues that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act protects user-posted content, but she accuses the platforms of "negligence-based product liability".
