US economy grew much more slowly than previously reported in fourth quarter

The US economic growth in the fourth quarter was significantly slower than the previous year, largely due to the historic government shutdown and a slowdown in consumer spending. The annualized GDP expanded at an annualized rate of 0.7% in the October-December period, down from the 1.4% rate initially reported. This comes as the US economy struggles with uncertainty and the effects of President Donald Trump's war on Iran.
