The San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP has called for criminal investigations and the ouster of top county leaders over the death of a 2-year-old San Jose toddler in foster care. The complaint criticizes a pattern of preventable tragedies that can no longer be attributed to isolated failures, including deliberate policy choices, obstruction of oversight, and the systematic protection of institutional actors over vulnerable children. The NAACP has sent a formal complaint to top county officials, board of supervisors, county attorney general, grand jury, and state Attorney General. The county responded by saying it is investigating the death and reviewing its polices and staff actions during Jaxon's time in care.
