The first time in Shaka Smart's tenure as head coach, the Golden Eagles will not be in the NCAA tournament. The team does not have a strong enough net ranking to consider competing in the eight-team College Basketball Crown bracket, which includes non-NCI teams from the Big East and Big Ten. The third-tier College Basketball Invitational is not being played this year.
