Andrea Medford, a Georgia woman who went for a routine eye exam, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after waking up with blurry vision in one eye. She went to Briggs Vision Group, where Dr. Rebecca Briggs Garnier gave her vision tests and diagnosed her with optic neuritis, which occurs when swelling damages the optic nerve. Despite this, Medford spent a week in the hospital before her vision returned.
