Liberal MP Michael Ma has been promoting his skepticism about the existence of forced labour in China, following an exchange with a China expert at a parliamentary committee meeting. The former Conservative MP, who joined the Liberal Party in December, asked the expert about the issue during the meeting and suggested it could lead to a decrease in the number of people employed in the country.
