The state of New Jersey has revealed a slight decrease in state aid for the upcoming year, with the Secaucus school district receiving $3,895,069, a 2 percent decrease from the $3.9,000 received this year. The state determines school funding based on the size of the district, current enrollment, and predicted growth or decrease in enrollment. These reductions can lead to layoffs and possibly even closure of schools.
